Registration for Gause soccer starts Aug. 18

GAUSE—Registration for Gause soccer for boys and girls ages 4 thru 13 as of Sept. 1st begins August 18 at Gause school cafeteria from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Other dates include:

• August 25— 6 p.m.-8 p.m.

• August 29—6 p.m.-8p.m.

• Sept. 1—6 p.m.-8 p.m.

The cost is $40 per child (this includes jersey and socks).

It’s open to all students in Gause, Milano, Mumford, Hearne, Rockdale and Calvert school districts.

Three games will be played in Gause and the other three will be in Cameron.

First game will be on Sept. 24 with the last game on Oct. 29.

All games will be on Saturday mornings.

3rd Gause Sugarloaf 5K Fun Run set for Sept. 3

GAUSE–The 3rd annual Gause Sugarloaf 5K and Fun Run is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 3

The 3.1 mile race will take you on a scenic route from the historic Little River Bridge, past Sugarloaf Mountain and ending back at the Gause ISD gym.

Entry fee is $10 until Aug. 27 and $15 the day of the race. T-shirts are guaranteed for the first 200 participants registered by mail.

Make check payable to Gause ISD Booster Club and mail to P.O. Box 38 Gause, TX, 77857.

All proceeds benefit the Gause ISD Booster Club.

Packet pick-up and race day registration is from 7:30-8 a.m. at Gause Gym.

The run begins at 8 a.m. with the 5K Run/Walk to follow.

Thunderkatz softball holding fundraiser Sat.

THORNDALE—The 10U Cen- Tex Thundercatz girls select softball team is holding a fundraiser on Saturday, August 20, starting at 9 a.m. at the stop light in Thorndale.

They will be selling sausage wraps, chopped beef sandwiches, sausage by the pound and a bake sale.
