Vehicle break-ins hit unlocked cars
Two more vehicle burglaries involving unlocked cars were reported during the past week as a purse and billfold were taken, according to police.
“ People need to lock their vehicles when they leave them unattended,” Lt. J. D. Newlin said. “We keep seeing this from week to week.”

Horse, crane accidents draw deputies
The Milam County Sheriff’s Department was called to a pair of accidents in the Cameron area during the past week, one involving a fall from a horse and a construction incident.
HORSE—Della Mekush was taken to Scott & White Hospital, Temple for treatment of head and facial injuries after being thrown from a horse north of Minerva. Full Story
A 49-year-old Rockdale woman was taken to an Austin area hospital after her vehicle struck a guard rain along US 77 just south of Rockdale at 12:42 p.m. Friday. Full Story

CA MERON—Twent y- seven persons were indicted Thursday by a Milam County Grand Jury, according to Prosecutor Kerry Spears.
She listed indictments as follows:
