Early registration deadline for Sugarloaf Run is Aug. 27

A reminder that Saturday, Aug. 27 is the last day to register at the $10 cost to participate in the third annual Gause Sugarloaf 5K & Fun Run. The day of the race (Saturday, Sept. 3) will cost you $15.

School got started on Monday. Football practice for the Gause Junior High Bears is each school day afternoon 3-5 p.m. As is the same for the volleyball. Schedules will be available soon for when they will be playing their games.

Fall soccer registration will be held in the Gause school cafeteria on Aug. 25 and Aug. 29 from 6-8 p.m. Gause ISD Parents Club will meet at 6:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29 in the Gause Library.

Elaine and Eugene Baumann have a new grandson, William ( Will) Edward Shehane, born Aug. 10 to daughter and son-inlaw Melissa and Michael Shehane of College Station. Will weighed nine pounds four ounces and was 20.5 inches long. Paternal grandparents are Barbara Shehane and Jerry and Linda Shehane.

Kelly and Dennis Walker are ever so excited at the birth of their first grandchild. Holden Ash Walker arrived on Aug. 15, weighing eight pounds three ounces and was 20 inches long. Parents are Nikki and Kurt Walker. Maternal grandparents are Steve and Mary Honeycutt of Milano.

We hope everyone in the Ray and Brandi Reagan home are all much better. A couple of the boys have been sick and Ray had emergency gall bladder surgery last week.

Our sincere sympathy to the families of James Rasco and his sister Joy at the loss of their dad Booter Rasco last week.

Jaxon Hayles spent last week in Seabrook with his dad and grandparents and other relatives. He had an early birthday party while there. His birthday is on Aug. 29.
