Counselors invite public to meetings

Dear editor,

We would like to take this opportunity to invite anyone who lives in Milam County to attend one of two upcoming suicide prevention trainings being provided by the Milam County Suicide Prevention Coalition.

Sept. 4-10 has been designated National Suicide Prevention Week.

There will be two ASK Gatekeeper trainings offered which are open to the public.

One will be Sept. 6 at the Rockdale High School Library and the other on Sept. 8 at Cameron High School. Both will start at 6 p.m. and last about two hours.

Babysitters will be available for children fifth grade and under.

Experts believe that most suicidal individuals do not want to die.

They just want to end the pain they are experiencing.

Everyone in Milam County can be a “gatekeeper” and help save a life by talking about suicide prevention.

Together we can make a difference by giv ing someone a tomorrow.

We hope to see you there.
