Residents pitch in for Bastrop fire victims relief

QUICK LOOK

Rockdale-area residents are pitching in to help their neighbors in Bastrop as more than 500 families have lost homes in weekend wildfires.

“What we’re hearing is that they have all the clothes they need but they can use toiletries, towels, trash bags and, above all, volunteer helpers,” Kristi Moreland, volunteer, said.

Donations can be made at the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce rock house. “Or just to Bastrop and volunteer,” she said.

Headricks—Specific donations for the Bill Headrick Jr. family, which lost their Bastrop area home Sunday, may be made at St. John’s United Methodist Church or to parents Billy and Betty Headrick.
