The sixth annual Kay Theatre Walk-Run- Unrun will unreel Saturday, Oct. 1, beginning at the theatre, corner of Main and Davilla.

Outdoor Hunting Expo set Sept. 23-24 at Apache Pass
A Civil War re-enactment will be part of the weekend’s entertainment Sept. 23-24 as the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce hosts the Central Texas Hunting & Outdoor Expo at the entertainment venue, eight miles northwest of Rockdale on FM 908.
Local Civil War buffs, in uniform, will first visit Apache Pass Friday, Sept. 23, first day of the event. Full Story
County to act on tax rate
CAMERON—Milam County commissioners will adopt the 2012 tax rate and budget in a regular meeting at 10 a.m. Monday in the county courthouse.
Commissioners were to have held the last of three public hearings on the budget and tax rate at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, in the courthouse. Full Story

When we rode that elevator 107 stories to the observation deck atop one of the twin towers at the World Trade Center, little did we know that we would be among its last visitors.
Wife Peg and I, along with friends Bob and Geri Burnett and Gary and Annette Griesbach, spent the morning Sept. 1, 2001, at the World Trade Center in New York City. Full Story
