Church starting new Bible study for junior high school students

Bro. Tim Ackerman from the Bryan/College Station area will be filling the pulpit at the Gause Baptist Church on Sunday, Sept. 18. Morning worship services begins at 10:45 and the evening service at 6.

Gause Baptist Church is without a pastor at this time but until one is selected there will be a supply preacher each Sunday. You are cordially invited to attend the services at Gause Baptist Church.

The church youth director, Matthew Sanders, invites all junior high and high school students of the community to attend a Bible study each Monday evening. They are meeting in homes of church families. Call Matt for more information.

Gause Community Improvement Program (CIP) met Sept. 5 at the Gause Community Center. Members discussed Founders Day that was held the Saturday before and was pleased with the day. Plans were discussed for the annual community Christmas program and dinner that the CIP sponsors each year. Final plans will be made at the Oct. 3 meeting. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. and you are invited to become a part of this organization.

Gause 4-H Club met on Sept. 6 in the Gause ISD cafeteria. Milam County Extension agents were there to present the program informing the youth and parents about the Milam County 4-H program and what is available for the youth to be a part of. There is a new rule in 4-H that some may not be aware of. Youth need to register online.

Gause 4-H Club will meet the first Tuesday of each month. Next meeting will be Oct. 4 in the Gause ISD cafeteria.

The cool mornings and the daytime ninety degree weather was great this past week, but seems the hundreds are back. I heard a weather man say a week or so ago “no more 100- plus temps this season”. Oh well, we will endure.

Gause Junior High volleyball teams will play in Coupland at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19. The GJH football team will play at Brazos Christian on Thursday, Sept. 22.

School is well underway now and this Friday will be “Picture Day” This will include sports pictures and individual photos. If you need more info call the school at 979-279- 5891.
