Big Blue Band raising funds for Disneyland

The Big Blue Band from Tigerland is planning a trip to Disneyworld on June 4, 2012. The trip to Orlando, Florida will be for five days with three days spent in the park. The band will perform on one of the Disney stages.

“ The band will hold several fundraisers to help with the expenses,” according to Adrian Acevedo, RHS band director.

One of the fundraisers will be the selling of sponsorship business logos or individual signatures to be placed on the band t-shirts worn at Disneyworld.

The band will also hold a fundraising sale in October with products such as pizza kits, cheesecakes, cookies and more.

“They will also be selling candygrams for the holidays and holding car washes in September and October beside Edward D. Jones office in Texas Plaza,” Acevedo said.

The band boosters are also holding fundraisers to help with the expenses of the trip.

“We have a great band boosters group but we are always looking for more members to help,” said Acevedo. “We have Band Nerds Rock t-shirts for sale and will be holding a bake sale the first week of December.”

The RHS band boosters will run the concession stand at the Fri., October 14 football game as well as the following Thursday.

“And of course, we w ill be holding our annual spaghetti dinner and senior cake sale in the spring,” Acevedo said.
