Burn ban, fireworks calls for sheriff

Despite the hottest, driest summer on record, the Milam County Sheriff’s Department continues to get calls reporting burn ban violations.

Deputies checked out a burn ban call at 8:20 p.m. Saturday on FM 486.

Earlier in the day, at 1:20 p.m., deputies were called to a report of fireworks being used in the Buckholts area.

CALLS—Milam County Sheriff David Greene said other calls during the past week for his department included:

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
