Drug pipe tests result in arrest, new charges

Test results on a suspected drug pipe led police to the arrest of an 18-year-old Rockdale man on a warrant and a variety of new charges.

Roman Ramos was charged with possession of a controlled substance (less than one gram), possession of marijuana ( less than two ounces) in a drug-free zone, prohibited substance in a correctional facility and probation violation (original charge, burglary).

He rema ins in t he Mila m County Jail on bond totaling $29,000.

Lt. J. D. Newlin said police sent off suspected “meth pipes” in connection with an arrest about six weeks ago.

“The results came back positive and when Ofc. Dale Bekker went to make the arrest at the Budget Inn, a bag of marijuana was found,” Newlin said.

“ Since the motel is w ithin 1,000 feet of the elementar y school, the charge was possession of marijuana in a school zone,” he said.

“Also, while the suspect was being booked, a baggie of methamphetamine was found, resulting in the charge of drug possession in a correctional facility,” he said.

FELONIES—Sydnee Brook Tower y, 18, of Rockdale was arrested on warrants for forgery by passing and possession of a controlled substance (less than one gram). She remains in custody on $12,000 bond,

Cary Evette Meyer, 42, of Rockdale, was charged with theft from person, interfering with an emergency call and evading arrest or detention. She remains in custody on $11,000 bond.

Humberto DeLeon St. 46, of Rockdale, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation on an original charge of attempting to commit indecency with a child. He remains in the county jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.

Dakota Michelle Simmons, 19, of Plano, was arrested Tuesday on a Tarrant County warrant for prostitution.

OFFE NSE S— Newlin said police recovered three stolen gumball machines after detaining four young adults in a car parked behind the KC Hall.

A burglary of habitation report involved a stolen telev ision, according to police.

Also under investigation are a stolen bicycle, burglary of a vehicle and a criminal mischief incident involving a vehicle that was “keyed.”

ACCIDENTS—No traffic accidents were reported during the past week inside the Rockdale city limits.

WARR ANTS—Police made three arrests on local warrants during the past week along with one each from Llano County and Tarrant County.

CITATIONS—Traffic citations issued during the week included 48 for speeding, 10 for expired MVI sticker, four for no liability insurance, three for expired registration, two for running a stop sign and one each for parking violation, using a wireless device while driving, permitting an unlicensed driver to drive (non guardian) and failure to report change of address.

One citation for animal at large was issued.

SERVICE CALLS—Officers responded to 166 service calls during the week, including 88 through the 911 system.
