Gause CIP, 4-H groups to meet

Soccer got off to a great start this past Saturday on the fields here in Gause. There is a great turnout of players this year. Saturday, Oct. 2 the games will be played in Cameron. Then on Oct. 8 they will be back in Gause, Oct. 15 in Cameron and the final game here in Gause on Oct. 22. The youngest player teams begin at 8:30 am., older teams at 9.

The Gause Junior High Lady Bears volleyball team played in a tournament in Westphalia on Saturday. On Oct. 8 they will be in Bryan in the Brazos Christian tournament.

On Thursday, the Gause Bears football team will be playing Texas Christian Academy in Waco. On Oct. 6 the team will be playing football in Holland beginning at 5:30 p.m. The team played a great game this past Thursday against Brazos Christian. If you get the chance, go see our Gause teams play their games.

There is also a group of Gause younger girls playing on volleyball teams in Robertson County.

Gause Community Improvement Program (CIP) will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3 in the Gause Community Center. Join us.

Milam County 4-H clubs will have their annual 4-H Celebration on Sunday, Oct. 2 at the Firemen’s Hall in Thorndale The program begins at 3 p.m.

Gause 4-H Club will be having their monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4 in the Gause ISD cafeteria. All interested youth and parents are encouraged to attend. Colin Kostroun of the Cameron 4-H Club will have a presentation on Bass Brigade, a camp he attend this summer. Gause 4-H adult leaders, Kelly Lee-Cooper and Elizabeth Miller will be presenting a Foods and Nutrition Workshop.If you are interested in either of these projects this is a great opportunity to find out more about them.

It also time for the Milam County Consumer Decision Making project meetings to begin and information on that will also be available.

Also plans will be made for the annual fall carnival and Auction to be held Saturday, Oct. 29 at the Gause School.

The youth group of the Gause Baptist Church are having Bible Studies in the homes of church members each Monday evening. This includes junior high through high school youth. For more info you may call Matt Sanders at 979- 218-6827 for more information.

Thanks to all who came and supported the “ breakfast for lunch” fund-raiser held Sunday for the Gause Baptist Church Youth.

Kelly Cooper and Cameron, Leah Lee, Wayne Lee and Jaxon Hayles went to Shiner Saturday to watch St. Joseph Catholic School of Bryan play football. Connelly Cooper plays for the St. Joseph team.
