A Rockdale tradition continues in 2011 as Kendall Morris, Miss Texas 2011, will attend both weekends of the 36th Rockdale Fair.

Kay run raises $5,000 for restoration
Perfect weather greets 75 participants on Saturday
The sixth annual Kay Theatre 5K Run/Unrun grossed $ 5,000 toward restoration of the Rockdale landmark as about 60 persons participated in the event Saturday.
That means the event has raised about $48,000 in its four-year history. The previous five runs netted a combined $43,000. Full Story

Fun times in downtown during city’s annual Fall Fest
Our small city had a very busy weekend. All of the food vendors made sure the aroma of barbecue and sausage wraps were in the air. The Texas Minirod Tractor Pull was great and loud as usual. The crowd enjoyed it. Thanks to everyone that helped. The Milano VFD Ladies Auxiliary had a great weekend sale. Their proceeds are used to help our volunteer firemen. Full Story

Rockdale’s dialysis center offers closer treatments
Hello Rockdale. I had the opportunity of visiting a business this week that is a true asset to our community and helps many people in our area. The Fresenius Medical Center is the kidney center here in Rockdale. They service people in need of kidney dialysis get the treatments they need without having to travel outside of Rockdale. Full Story
