Rockdale’s dialysis center offers closer treatments

CHAMBER NEWS
Deedra Jacob

Hello Rockdale. I had the opportunity of visiting a business this week that is a true asset to our community and helps many people in our area. The Fresenius Medical Center is the kidney center here in Rockdale. They service people in need of kidney dialysis get the treatments they need without having to travel outside of Rockdale.

The facility was beautiful and clean and I had a very nice visit with Marilyn who is the clinic manager. She, as well as her staff, was so nice and helpful. If you are in need of their services, please give her a call at 512-446- 5400. They are located at 300 Josie Lane here in Rockdale.

RACHEL’S CHALLENGE— This week the RISD will host Rachel’s Challenge from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5 at the high school gym. What an amazing program. We are excited to have them come and talk to us and hope that all of you come and listen to what an inspiration this program could be for our children and parents in our community.

KAY RUN—The Kay Theatre had their annual 5-Kay Run, Walk and Kids-Kay this past weekend and it was a great success as always. The funds from that event will go to help restore the Kay Theatre.

RIBBON CUTTINGS—On Friday, the American Legion Hall will host a ribbon cutting at 4 p.m. at their facility. They are now located on FM 487 (where the gun club used to be). The Chamber would like to congratulate them on their new location and welcome you to stop by and see them.

On Saturday, Ideal Cleaners will host a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. at their facility to showcase the new ownership of that business. The Chamber would like to congratulate Nicholas and Rebecca Gerren on their new venture and want to welcome any and all to stop by and see them.
