BREAKING NEW GROUND—Members of Rockdale’s American Legion Carlyle Post 358 held ground breaking ceremonies Friday afternoon at the site of their new 4,000 square feet multi-purpose building located on North FM 487. Post members, Chamber of Commerce members, family and friends were on hand for the ceremonies. The building’s slab was poured Friday morning. Pictured in front row with shovels are (L-R) post adjutant Ken Clark, Daniel Turner, Peter Garza, post commander Art Free, Dave Phillips, Ronnie Faust, Ernest Garza and contractor Gary Daniel. Free said hopes are for the building to be used by the public for various activities. RHS graduates Daniel Turner and Peter Garza recently returned home from Iraq after serving in the United States Navy.
