The 2011 Rockdale Fair and Rodeo ought to look a lot like the 2010 event Thursday through Saturday and that’s just fine with Rockdale Fair Association directors.

8 sought; house near RHS target
Rockdale Police and the Milam County Sheriff ’s Department swooped dow n on t wo su spected drug- dealing locations Saturday and Monday as part of an eight-month, large-scale drug sting operation.

Milano homecoming court announced
Milano’s homecoming football game is set for Friday, Oct. 28 and the new homecoming queen will be crowned during halftime ceremonies. Queen nominees are seniors Desiree Adrian, Brittany Barnett, Elizabeth Keller and Arianna Douglas. Class duchesses are junior Raighley Shaw, sophomore Victoria Garcia and freshman Halle McManess. Freshman team gets back on track by tagging Tigers
THURSDAY: The junior varsity and freshmen host LaGrange with the first game at 5 p.m. The junior high Tigers travel to LaGrange with the first game starting at 4:30 p.m.
After losing their first game of the year last week to Navasota, the Rockdale ninth grade team got back on track with an 18-6 victory over Smithville. Full Story
Milano moves to 7-0 after handling Holland at home
Eagles earn No. 15 state ranking after latest win
MILANO—For the first time since 1999, the Milano Eagles are 7-0 on the season and look to snag a post-season berth if they get that eighth win on Friday.
The now No. 15 ranked Eagles handled District 13-A Division II opponent Holland 20- 8 on Friday night, which was also Seniors/Parents Night at Pruett Field. Full Story
No. 11 Lady Eagles clinch share of district crown
Milano currently owners of a 13- game win streak
MIL A NO—The No. 11 Lady Eagles clinched at least a share of the District 25A title with a win over Granger on Tuesday night at Geneva Paceley Gym. It is the 11th district title for coach Wendy King in her 18 years as head volleyball coach at Milano.
