Illegal trash dumping reported

The Milam County Sheriff’s Department was called to two reports of illegal trash dumping in the Rockdale area during the past week.

Deputy Eddy Veracruz investigated both reports, at 11:50 a.m. Oct. 11 on Cypress Trail Loop and 5:16 p.m. Friday on FM 908 north of town.

The department also continues to investigate reports of burn ban violations throughout the county.

Twenty-nine calls for livestock running loose were answered by the department, averaging more than four a day.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
