Family practitioner joins staff at clinic


Dr. O’Neill Dr. O’Neill The staff of Little River Health Care Systems local clinics has grown to four with the recent addition of Dr. Larissa O’Neill of Georgetown.

Jeff Madison, administrator, said Little River now has four family prac t itioners and four “mid-levels” serving the local medical community.

“We went out and recruited Dr. O’Neill because the demand is here for another family practitioner,” Madison said. “We are doing a lot of business and we could certainly see our staff grow some more.”

Dr. O’Neill is currently seeing patients Mondays through Wednesdays at Little River’s Main Street Clinic.

She’s a native of the Houston area and a graduate of SMU and the University of Texas Medical School at Houston.

“ I enjoy family medicine because I get to deal with every member of a family, from very young to elderly,” she said.

It’s a medical family. She is married to obstetrician-gynecologist Dr. John Sherman and the couple has two children, ages 7 and 5.

“Our family is very outdoor oriented,” she said.

Dr. Sherman practices in Rockdale two days a week.
