Ashamed of low turnout at Bloodmobile visit

Dear editor,

I do not understand why only 12 people (including myself) as of 3 p.m. gave blood on Monday Oct. 17.

The Scot t & White mobile unit was parked in the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce parking lot for all to see.

It was also advertised all over town. It seems to me that Rockdale should have had at least 100 donors today, if not more.

You just never know when a loved one or one of your neighbors may need blood.

I read all the negative letters to the editor on this and that, mostly irrelevant matters. And when the time comes for us to give 30 minutes of our time, no one shows up to volunteer.

If this letter to the editor made you feel guilty, you can still give in Temple, Taylor or Round Rock.

A mobile unit also comes out to Peace Lutheran Church on a regular basis.

Mario Casarez,

PO Box 1635

Rockdale
