Amendments early voting starts Monday

Early voting for the Nov. 8 Texas Constitutional Amendment Election gets under way Monday at four locations around the county, according to Sherry Mueck, elections clerk.

On Nov. 8 voting will be consolidated into four polling places, two each in Rockdale and Cameron, she said.

Early voting dates, times and locations were listed as follows:

Milam County Clerk’ s Office, Cameron—8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Oct. 24-28 and Oct. 31- Nov. 4.

Precinct 1 Commissioner Office, Buckholts—7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Oct. 24-28 and Oct. 31- Nov. 3; 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Nov. 4.

Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Office, One-Stop Center, Rockdale—8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Oct. 24-28 and Oct. 31- Nov. 4.

Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Office, Thorndale— 8:30 a.m. to 12-noon and 1:30 to 4 p.m., Oct. 24-28 and Oct. 31-Nov. 4.

Consolidated polling places for Tuesday, Nov. 8, were listed as follows:

Precincts 101, 103 and 105—Milam County Courthouse, Cameron.

Precinc ts 207, 210 and 212—Cameron Community Center.

Precincts 316, 317 and 318—Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department.

Precincts 419 and 420— New Salem Home Demonstration Building, Fair Park, Rockdale.

Last day to apply for a ballot by mail is Tuesday, Nov. 1.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
