Schools seek help on E-voting
CAMERON—Milam County school districts appeared before commissioners on Monday asking the county to help find a solution to a voting machine scheduling problem next year.
Because the state has moved primary runoff dates into conflicts with school elections for 2012, the districts say they are faced with the prospect of having to purchase expensive electronic voting machines. Full Story

City library used book sale ahead on December 3rd
The annual Friends of the Library sidewalk book sale is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library.

Four hurt Saturday in rural accident
Four Rockdale residents were taken to area hospitals after their vehicle hit a tree at 4:45 a.m. Friday on County Road 448, southeast of FM 1786.
Trooper Eric Hack of Falls County listed the driver as Daniel Turner, 23.
He was flown to Scott & White Hospital, Temple where he was treated and released. Full Story

US 79 wasn’t closed
No matter what you may have read or heard Monday and Tuesday, US 79 through Rockdale was not closed for a couple of hours Monday afternoon.
City crews did repair a water line break near the Cameron-Wilcox (US 79-FM 908) intersection during the early afternoon but traffic was diverted around cones placed in the highway’s lanes ad traffic made it just fine. Full Story
