Thrown drugs net charges of possession, ‘tampering’
A baggie thrown from a vehicle during a traffic stop has resulted in drug possession and tampering with evidence charges against a 36-year-old Milano man.
Wesley Eugene Parker was arrested Sunday by Ofc. Steven Cooper after the incident.
“A baggie thrown from the vehicle is believed to contain methamphetamine,” Lt. J. D. Newlin said. Full Story

Deputies probe scam attempts, illegal dumping, burn violation
Two attempted scams were investigated during the past week by the Milam County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputy Eddy Veracruz investigated an attempted phone scam at 10:49 a.m. Friday on CR 328 south of Milano.
Deputy Lee Dixon checked out a scam reported at 12:15 p.m. Oct. 26 on County Road 218 near Cameron. Full Story

Vehicle damaged in Friday crash
Extensive damage was reported in a one-vehicle crash at 7:10 a.m. Friday in western Milam County, according to Trooper David Yarbrough.
He said a vehicle operated by Lauren Patrick, 22, of Thorndale, ran off FM 1331, .3-mile east of County Road 439. Full Story
