Rockdale, Gause schools ‘recognized’ by Region VI

HUNTSVILLE— The Fall Administrators’ Conference, hosted by the Education Service Center, Region VI, was held in Huntsville, at the Professional Development Center on Oct. 26. Exemplary and recognized school districts and campuses for 2011 were honored, as well as those schools receiving The Texas Business and Education Coalition Awards. Also showcased were the administrators and teacher-of-the-year finalists, and w inners. NCLB National Blue Ribbon Schools from Region VI were also celebrated.

Over 300 educators and guests, from the 15 counties served by Region VI, attended the conference, luncheon and awards ceremony. Thomas Poe, Executive Director of Region VI, introduced the dignitaries. Master of Ceremonies, was Dr. Pat Pringle, formerly an Executive with Texas Education Agency and Dr. Eddie Coulson, Superintendent of College Station schools who introduced Texas Senator Steve Ogden and presented him with a special plaque of appreciation for the senator’s friendship and support of Texas educators, Texas schools and Texas school children. Senator Ogden greeted each winner and congratulated school district representatives during the awards ceremony.

Rockdale Elementary and Intermediate campuses received awards for being “recognized” campuses, as did Gause ISD and Gause Elementary School.
