Rockdale, Cameron only polling places in Tuesday amendment vote
Early voting on the 10 amendments ends Friday at four different locations around the county.
The pace of early voting has been slow, according to the county clerk’s office, with only 80 ballots cast in the first week.
Nineteen early votes were cast in Rockdale, 40 in Cameron, nine in Thorndale and four in Buckholts. Eight mail-in ballots were received.
Early voting schedule for the final two days:
Milam County Clerk’ s Office, Cameron—8 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
Precinct 1 Commissioner Office, Buckholts—Thursday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Friday, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Office, One-Stop Cen- ter, Rockdale—8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., both days.
Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Office, Thorndale— 8:30 a.m. to 12-noon and 1:30 to 4 p.m., both days.
AMENDMENTS—Voters will cast “yes” or “no” ballots on the following proposed amendments:
No. 1—Property tax exempt ions for d isabled veterans’ spouses.
No. 2—Raising bonding capacity of the Texas Water Development Board.
No. 3—Additional student loan bonds.
No. 4—Authorizing “tax increment financing” for some areas.
No. 5—Extending interlocal agreement time period.
No. 6—Increasing distributions from the state’s Permanent School Fund to the Available School Fund.
No. 7—Adds El Paso County to conservation-reclamation district list.
No. 8—Adds a “water stewardship valuation” appraisal option.
No. 9—Authorizes pardons for deferred adjudication cases.
No. 10—Extends the “unexpired term” time period during which incumbents must resign if they seek another office.
