City library used book sale ahead December 3rd

The annual Friends of the Library sidewalk book sale is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library.

“Discover how liberating it is to see f ree space on your book shelves or nightstands, and support a worthwhile community cause at the same time,” Annette Stone, Friends spokesperson, said.

“Box them up, bag them up, and carry those used books into the main desk at 201 Ackerman during regular library hours,” she said.

All hardbound and paperback books will be accepted, for the sale she said.

Library hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.

“The Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library and Friends encourage literacy by offering summer reading programs for children and cultural opportunities through author visits in schools and the library,” Stone said.

“ When you d rop of f you r books for the sale, ask about volunteering to help,” she said.
