Reporter/Cliff Dungan Preston Ehler accounted for the freshmen’s only score. Reporter/Cliff Dungan THURSDAY: In the season finale, the junior varsity and freshmen host Caldwell with the first game at 5 p.m. The junior high Tigers travel to Caldwell with the first game starting at 4:30 p.m.

Despite taking an early lead, the Rockdale freshman team was bested for just the second time this season in a 28-8 loss to Giddings.

A Dylan McCartney to Preston Ehler touchdown pass from seven yards out to open the game represented the only score for the 6-2 Tigers on the evening.

With the score tied 8- 8 at halftime, the Buffaloes put up 20 points in the second half.

According to coaches, Ehler, Derek Whitsel, Tyler Land and Justin Offield were the standouts.

The junior varsity was blasted by Giddings 48-6 to fall to 1-8 on the year.

A 15- yard touchdow n pass from Kartavious Burton to Malcom Espitia was the only Tiger score, that coming in the fourth quarter.

Coaches said Burton, Darius Ford and Ramsey Zinn were the leaders.
