‘Oney’ Run proceeds will be shared in 2011

Dear editor,

Event organizers of the Buddy Oney Toy Run—Bad to the Bone Riders and the run committee— would like to share some information.

Funds that are raised every year are collected from caring people who come from all of Milam County, and even out of state .

We have decided our funds from the sixth run Dec. 3, starting at The Ranch in Rockdale, will be distributed between Milam County Child Protective Services (CPS) and Rockdale Christmas Roundup.

After talking with Milam County CPS board members and case workers about how much of a difference was made in children’s lives who are under Milam County CPS supervision after last year’s donation, we decided that these kids are definitely some of the most needy children of our county.

It made a big impact on their outlooks on life in a time of their lives where positives aren’t common.

On a more local level, most of us who put this fund raiser together are from Rockdale and want to continue our support for the local Christmas Roundup which helps the children of Rockdale.

The other half of our funds raised at this year’s ride will go to Roundup.

We would like to thank everyone in advance and encourage everyone to come to out and support all events this time of year that are being held to help the less fortunate of our town and county.

Bad To The Bone Riders and The Buddy Oney Toy Run Committee wish everyone a safe and happy holidays.
