Bullock

CAMERON—Funeral services for Betty Bullock, 83, of Temple will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron. Burial will follow in Milano Cemetery.

Visitation is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bullock died Sunday, Nov. 13, after a brief illness.

She was born Jan. 19, 1928, in Eagle Pass.

She married Garland Bullock in El Paso on Dec. 18, 1948, in Emmanuel Baptist Church. They lived in Tucson, Arizona, then moved to San Antonio and later to Waco.

Mrs. Bullock attended Baylor University.

She was employed at First National Bank and Service Mutual Insurance Agency before she began a career as a public school secretary at Meadowbrook Elementary and Tennyson Junior High in the Waco ISD.

Mrs. Bullock was a devout Christian and served as a choir member, pianist, organist and teacher in various churches.

She had an interest in music that began in her childhood.

Mrs. Bullock was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Garland R. Bullock Sr. of Milano; a daughter, Terry Jean Bullock of Cameron; her parents, Fred and Emma Hughes of Boerne; a brother, Virgil Hughes of Dallas; and a sister, Hazel Hughes Parrack of San Antonio.

Survivors are a son, Garland Bullock Jr. and wife Vicky of Austin; a daughter, Kathryn Bullock of Temple; her grandchildren, Jamie Daughdrill and husband Chris of Sugar Land, Derek Bullock and wife Nese of Round Rock, Tiffany Bullock of Cameron; and her great-grandchildren, Gabriel Acosta, Kathrine Acosta, Ian Daughdrill and Gabriella Daughdrill.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
