Cameron Police Department names chief


A 25-year veteran of the Temple Police Department was named the new Cameron Police Chief on Thursday.

James R. (Randy) Dixon is also a former police chief at Morgan’s Point.

He replaces Ted Retchloff of Rockdale, who had been serving as chief since the departure of Patrick Guffey in October, 2010.

Cameron City Mgr. Ricky Tow said Dixon was selected from a field of 52 applicants.
