His duties were making arrests, posting legal notices, serving subpoenas, and guarding prisoners in the county jail. He also transported convicts to the Huntsville State penitentiary. Full Story
Grocery checking, bagging over for me years ago
Recently, I read about a trend I’d never embraced and that is beginning to disappear. Grocers are starting to do away with checkout lanes where the customer can do their own checking and bagging.

Scam e-mail from Africa doesn’t make sense
A scam, titled DO ENDEVOUR TO GET BACK TO ME, (notice the missing “a” in the word endeavour) arrived in Cameron, supposedly from Donald Maxwell.
The Donald Maxwell who that sent the e-mail is from Ghana, a country in west Africa.
There are many scam indicators in this e-mail. The pronoun “I” is typed in the lower case. Full Story
