RMH Auxiliary lunch planned for Thursday

Richards Memorial Hospital Auxiliary’s luncheon will be held Thursday, Dec. 8, according to an announcement by Amy Howeth. “This is a reminder to everyone who bought tickets for the luncheon,” she said, “and we want to thank everyone who bought tickets for their support.”

Town & Country Club’s Christmas tour Dec. 15

THORNDALE—Members of the Thorndale Town & Country Club will hold their annual Christmas Tour of Homes on Thursday, Dec. 15. The event will include breakfast at the home of Donna Harris, stops at the homes of several members, and lunch at the Downtown Cafe in Thorndale.— Darleen Tucker, secretary

Buckholts Lions Club decorates center’s tree

BUCKHOLTS–Members of the Buckholts Lions Club met Dec. 1 with Lamerle and W.J. Zajicek providing the annual Christmas dinner. The Lions also decorated the Christmas tree on display at the Buckholts Community Center. Next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Jan. 5.

The club expressed thanks to everyone who supported a recent bake sale, with special thanks to Firehouse Burgers and Gamma’s Catering.

County Judge Dave Barkemeyer invited Lions to attend the Community Communication Group meeting held Dec. 5 at the Buckholts Community Center, to county law enforcement and legislative representatives.

Sunshine quilters to hold Christmas meeting Dec. 15

Sunshine n’ Shadows Quilt Guild will hold its Christmas meeting at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 15 at Meadowbrook Baptist Church fellowship hall. Visitors are welcome. For more information call Eddie Davidson, 446- 6316.

Sons of Hermann lodge yule meeting Tuesday

CAMERON— A Christmas party and meeting of Cameron Lodge 140, Order of the Sons of Hermann, has been scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 13 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Bea’s Kitchen, 101 E. Main Street in Cameron.

“All members of the Cameron lodge and the former Rockdale lodge are encouraged to attend this Christmas party and enjoy the catered meal and fellowship,” said Willie Korenek, lodge reporter/ historian. “Members having birthdays or anniversaries in October, November and December will be recognized.”

Grief support meetings held twice monthly

CAMERON—Standards Hospice is holding Grief Support Group meetings at 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays. Next meeting will be Dec. 22. “The meetings will continue into 2012,” according to Greg Nichols, chaplain. Meeting location is 115 N. Central in Cameron.

Thursday Reading Club to hear yule program
