Can count on it, Santa’s reindeer actually female
This interesting tidbit circulating around the internet:
According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, while both male and female reindeer grow antlers in the summer each year, male reindeer drop their antlers at the beginning of winter, usually late November to mid December.
Female reindeer, however, retain their antlers until after they give birth in the spring. Full Story
Gause students to present annual Christmas program
A reminder that the Gause Elementary School students will present their annual Christmas program at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15 in the school gym. Classes will be released for the Christmas holidays at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16. Full Story
Jentsch named first-team all-state on AP
Teammate Messer an honorable mention choice
At 6-foot-4 and 240-pounds, John Jentsch was able to use his size for more than just pushing people around.
The senior was named the firstteam punter on the Associated Press Class A All-State football team.
Jentsch averaged 41.2 yards per kick and placed 11 punts inside the 20-yard line. Full Story

The last t ime Milano and Thorndale met on the basketball court it was 2010 and the game went into overtime, with the Bulldogs winning a close game.
When the teams met in 2009 in Thorndale it was a last second three point shot that lifted Thorndale over the Eagles. Full Story
