Christmas quotes that capture the true holiday spirit

Hello Rockdale, I want to take this opportunity to say that I personally wish each of you a very Merry Christmas and hope that this holiday season is full of joy and peace for you and your families. I have included a few Christmas quotes for your enjoyment.

I like these quotes because they remind me that if we could somehow capture that Christmas spirit all year round what a remarkable society we would be: “And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled ‘till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store? What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more?” —Dr. Seuss

“For the spirit of Christmas fulfills the greatest hunger of mankind.” —Loring A. Schuler

“At Christmas a man is at his finest towards the finish of the year; He is almost what he should be when the Christmas season’s here; Then he’s thinking more of others than he’s thought the months before, And the laughter of his children is a joy worth toiling for. He is less a selfish creature than at any other time; When the Christmas spirit rules him he comes close to the sublime...” —Edgar Guest

“Christmas is not a time or a season but a state of mind. To cherish peace and good will, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.” —Calvin Coolidge, 1927
