San Antonio show photo contest deadline Jan. 15

Junior, intermediate and senior 4-Hers can enter photos in the San Antonio Livestock Show Photography Contest. Complete rules are in the 4-H newsletter.

Entries must be received by the San Antonio Livestock Show office by Jan. 15. You can enter two photographs in each of the categories for a total of 26 entries.

Show off your talents in this state photography contest. If you have questions, contact the Milam County Extension Office at 254-697-7045. PLANT ID TRAINING—If you want to learn about the environment mark your calendar for the Jan. 18 Plant ID training. The training will be conducted at Bea’s K itchen in Cameron starting with a pizza supper at 5:30 p.m. Dr. Barron Rector, Extension Range Specialist will start the training about 6 p.m. It will be a hands-on training for 4-Hers, leaders and interested persons to learn about ecology, range management and plant identification.

If you are planning on attending, preregister by calling the extension office.

DISTRICT FOOD SHOW— C ong rat u lat ions to Nata sha Ramthun for her participation in the District 4-H Food Show on Dec. 8th. Natasha is a Cameron 4-H member. BEEKEEPING ESSAY—The 2012 Texas 4-H Beekeeping Essay Contest materials are available. The topic for the essay contest is: “The Results of Honey Bee Pollination in My Community”. Essays can only be submitted electronically by the Jan. 13 deadline.
