Raid on Rockdale home nabs man out on bail from October sting operation
A 36-year-old Rockdale man, already out on bond from an October drug sting operation, was re-arrested at his home Friday and charged, once again, with drug dealing.
Reginald Darnell Hamilton was arrested about 12-noon Friday at 1901 Alcoa during a drug raid by the Milam County Sheriff’s Department Special Investigation Unit (SIU) and the Rockdale Police Department. Full Story
Many firms pick Monday for holiday
With Christmas falling on Sunday, many businesses and institutions are taking Monday off for the holiday. Most will be open Saturday, Christmas Eve.

Primaries moved to April 3 by court
Five persons—three Democrats and two Republicans—filed in Milam County for what was supposed to have been the last week of filing for the March 3 primaries.

Houston murder suspect surrenders in Cameron
A 21-year- old Houston man being sought for capital murder in connection with the death of his girlfriend’s four-year-old son, turned himself in just after 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Milam County Sheriff’s Department.
Michael Allen Seaton was the subject of a statewide manhunt after Dustyn Skyler Roff died Thursday in a Houston hospital. Full Story
‘Scrooge’ aids local charities
This holiday season has been a special one in Rockdale as an anonymous donor has been coming to the aid of several charities during the past few weeks.
Officials of Rockdale Christian Services said this week that the donor, who wishes to be identified only as “Scrooge,” has made sizeable and generous donations to that organization’s food pantry. Full Story
800 served yule cheer on Tuesday
A Christmas season which began in gloom ended in joy Tuesday as Christmas Roundup delivered food and toys to an estimated 800 needy persons in 249 family units.
In mid-November, Roundup volunteers were saying for the first time the organization would probably have to deny service to some persons this holiday season due to a lack of funds. Full Story
