Herring

GIDDINGS—Funeral services for Dwayne Ray Herring, 41, were held Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings, with Pastor Derrick Barnes officiating.

Mr. Herring died Thursday, Dec. 15, outside of Daingerfield, while assisting a motorist who had been in an accident.

He was born on Oct. 15, 1970, in Temple to Jerry and Gloria (Weaks) Herring.

Mr. Herring enjoyed trucks and motorcycles and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edna and L.S. Herring, and his grandmother, Myrtle McGuire Weaks.

Survivors are three sons, Dustin Herring and Corey Barnes, both of Milano, Chris and Holly Barnes of El Paso; a daughter, Nikki Herring of Milano; two grandchildren, Kayleigh and Sarah Barnes of El Paso; his parents, Jerry and Gloria Herring of Manor; a sister, Shirley Gragg of Colorado; his grandfather, J.I. Weaks of Temple; and a special friend, Vicki Landers Dixon of Sulpher Springs; as well as many nieces, nephew, cousins, aunts and extended family.

Memorials may be made to a scholarship fund for his daughter, Nikki Herring, at the Citizens State Bank, P.O. Box 389 Caldwell, TX 77836.
