City building projects totaled just $956,168 in calendar 2011
One new house and one new business building were about all the new growth Rockdale saw in 2011, as the area is as is the nation, still struggling from a sluggish economy. There were lots of remodel and add-on permits issued for home construction.
There were no new homes built in the city limits in 2010, nor were there in 2009. Full Story

Thorndale Chamber plans car, quilt shows
Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC)met in their regular meeting on Dec. 27 and began plans for their third annual car Show and quilt Show which will be held on Saturday, March 24.
