Citing a desire to graduate with his class coupled with his mother’s new job here, Daniel Brooks has returned to Rockdale and enrolled in school Tuesday.
When Brooks’ father Tony took a job with ALCOA in Point Comfort over the summer, he moved with his family and played football for Port Lavaca Calhoun this past season. Full Story

No. 10 ranked Giddings used nine fourth quarter Rockdale turnovers and the absence of Velma Mitchell to stave off the Lady Tigers 54-42 Tuesday night at Tiger Gymn.

League championship is next in their sights
The No. 7 Thorndale Lady Dogs stand alone atop the District 27- 2A standings as they finished unbeaten during the first round of league play and look to continue their winning ways.
On Tuesday night, Thorndale (23-2, 8-0) routed Lexington 54- 39 at Bulldog Gym.

Thorndale rebounds by disposing of Lexington Tuesday
THORNDALE—Having dropped their first district contest Friday to Lago Vista, Thorndale wasn’t about to let things snowball.
The Bulldogs rebounded by bouncing Lexington 54-45 Tuesday night in Bulldog Gym.

No. 8 Milano easily handles Thrall and Gateway
The No. 8 Milano Eagles are out to a good start in District 27A play as they defeated both opponents over the last week.
The Eagles (20-1, 2-0) secured a road win on Tuesday night at Georgetown Gatewa, 68-40.
Dominique Messer and Toby Sanders had standout nights, scoring 25 and 22 points respectively.
