Luminant’s Sandow Power Plant Unit 4 is one of four units statewide cited in a lawsuit filed by the Sierra Club last week against the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
The Sierra Club maintains a TCEQ permit amendment issued last month authorizes an increase of almost 1,000 pounds of particulate matter into the air from Sandow 4. Full Story

Milano Junior High’s One Act Play w ill present scenes from “Greater Tuna” at 7 p.m. Thursday in the high school cafeteria.

Milam jobless rate down just slightly
Texas’ unemployment lowest since July 2009
For t he second consecut ive month, unemployment numbers in Milam County are the lowest since April 2011 and are also down for the month, according to reports released Friday by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). A slight drop for the month seemed to be the trend around most of the area as well as across the state and nation. Full Story
