‘Injury to elderly’ arrest made on Monday
Wade Lee Whited, who was also charged with interfering with an emergency call, remains in the county jail in lieu of $17,000.
Lt. J. D. Newlin said the woman sustained bruises when she was “thrown down into a chair.”
Newlin said it is alleged the woman was threatened w ith death and that the assailant removed batteries from a phone, so the victim could not call for help.
ARREST—Police arrested Jamie Armando Garcia-Ramirez, 43, of Pharr on a warrant from Hidalgo County for failure to appear on a child support case.
Newlin said an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle case, which had involved an arrest and booking, was terminated after charges were dropped.
OFFENSES—Police investigated four thefts, including $10 cash taken from an individual, medication missing at Renaissance Villa, items taken from the trunk of a vehicle at a restaurant parking lot and a case of beer stolen from Walmart.
Also under investigation is a case involving the theft of a purse from a vehicle.
Newlin said police are investigating a number of mailboxes vandalized on FM 908 north.
ACCIDENTS—Vehicles driven by Stephanie Fitzpatrick, 40, of La Grange and Samuel Silva, 19, of Rockdale, were in collision at 5:34 p.m. Thursday at the corner of Alcoa and Rockdale Road.
Police listed drivers in a 10:59 a.m. accident Nov. 18 as Joyce Yakesch, 78, of Milano and 44- year-old Sherry Mobley of Cameron.
