What happened to the drought?


It went away for at least on day as Rockdale awoke to flooded streets and traffic problems Wednesday morning after a 3.4-inch rain, most of it overnight, drenched the area. Ham Branch was out in Central Rockdale. This is corner of Burleson and San Andres. High water was reported on a number of roads, including FM 1712 and FM 909 both north and south of town. City crews were busy blocking streets and police were called to several stalled out vehicles. Rockdale ISD classes opened on time but buses were delayed. The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
