End-of-course test dilemma
I n 2007, the state legislature decided that high school students would be required to pass end-ofcourse exams in place of TAKS exit exams. In 2009, the legislature also decided that students grades 3- 8 would take a more challenging assessment (now called the STAAR) instead of TAKS beginning in 2012. They also decided that the end- ofcourse exams would be a part of the STAAR. Full Story

Sixth through eighth grade students from Rockdale, Caldwell and Navasota competed in the District 23-3A north zone UIL academic contest. Events were held Dec. 5 in Caldwell and Dec. 6 in Navasota.

Booster club’s 5th annual Father-Daughter Dance Feb. 17

Juniors to have open campus lunch Thursday
As the result of a recent incentive program, students from Rockdale High School classified as juniors will be rewarded with an “off campus lunch” on Thursday, principal Joey Geletka announced. Full Story
