Thanks to judge for his stance on prayer

Dear editor,

I want to thank County judge David Barkemeyer for his stand for prayer when the commissioners court begins their meetings.

Americans United for Separation of Church and State is just another ploy to remove God and his son Jesus from America.

I do believe in separation of Church and state. I believe the state has no right to try and run the church no matter what a person believes. At the same time I also believe we cannot, dare not, remove God from state.

If anyone believes that we can remove God from state, all they have to do is look around them at what a big mess America is in right now. Let’s take our public schools for example.

Some older people who remember the 1950’s and early 1960’s will know what I’m talking about. I graduated from Rockdale High school in 1959.

Back when I was in school this is what we got in trouble for in school. Talking in class, running in the halls, chewing gum in class, being late for class, or throwing paper on the floor. For this many times the boys got a paddling.

We had a principle named H. D. Maxwell, and I mean he had a board of education, all he had to do was lay it against your backside a couple of times and he got your attention.

Look at what happened back in 1962 when prayer was taken out of public schools.

Look at what goes on in public school’s today. Drugs, rape, murder and bullying, that’s a big difference. What happened?

One woman who was an atheist filed a complaint against prayer in the public schools and took her case all the way to the Supreme Court. The bright socalled judges in the Supreme Court ruled in her favor.

What happened when t he Supreme Court separated God from state in our public schools? God’s protection was removed from our public schools. God will not stay where he is not wanted.

What about the man made law for murder? Back in 1972 a woman got pregnant. She claimed she was raped. There again the SupremeCourtruledinher favor, and created a man-made law called abortion on demand. I call it murder on demand.

A few days after the ruling of the Supreme Court, the woman confessed she wasn’t raped, she just did not want the baby. Although she came forth with the truth, this did not reverse the ruling.

There again man ruled against God and state, and millions and millions of precious little babies have been jerked from their mother’s womb, given no chance at life.

In America we do have the right to choose what we want to believe. If you want to believe in bull-frogs and make them your gods, that is your right.

As for me I believe in the one true living God of all creation, I also believe in his son as my savior.

Now you don’t see me coming against your bullfrogs do you? Why do you come against my God?

Thanks again Judge Barkemeyer. God bless.
