Thorndale rebounds after Jarrell setback

Bulldogs still on track for a playoff berth

The Thorndale Bulldogs rebounded from a spanking from a ranked Jarrell team by taking out their frustrations on Florence 53-34 Tuesday night on the road.

The Bulldogs stand 16-7 overall and 6-2 in District 13-2A competition.

Thorndale used a 23-point outburst to distance themselves from Florence for a 44-26 lead.

Dillon Irwin led a balanced scoring attack with 14 points, followed by Tanner Thomas’ 13 and Riley Schaefer’s 11.

The Bulldogs were coming off a 63-26 drubbing at the hands of No. 3 ranked Jarrell (24-0, 7-0).

Behind a 26-point first quarter, Jarrell took a commanding 39-14 lead at halftime.

Schaefer led Thorndale with eight points.
