Wilson

Memorial services for Sylvan G. Wilson, 96, of Gause were held Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, in Gause Baptist Church with Rev. Don Hancock officiating.

Mr. Wilson died Wednesday, Jan. 25, at his home in Gause.

He was born May 19, 1915, in Gause to Thomas Clyde and Ola (Gaston) Wilson.

Mr. Wilson lived all of his life in Gause and was a graduate of Hearne High School.

He married Mattie Lorraine Burney on Dec. 31, 1935, in Rockdale.

Mr. Wilson was a machinist for the Civil Service, worked at the Houston Ship Yard, Holloman Air Force Base and Texas A&M University. He was also a cattle rancher.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on March 31, 2007; a granddaughter, Katherine Kruppa; a brother, Elvis Wilson; and two sisters, Edrie Browder and Arvel Shaw.

Survivors are a son, Tom Wilson and wife Dori of Gause, and a daughter, Jo Jo Kruppa of Bay City; also, six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
