While Rockdale’s new “ big green trash carts” have been well received since the city changed its trash service Jan 1, officials have one favor to ask.

Two hurt in wrecks
Two persons were injured during South Milam County traffic accidents investigated during the past week by state troopers.
Trooper Ernest DelBosque said a vehicle operated by Stanton Bussell, 61, of Waco, sustained extensive damage in a one vehicle accident at 3:45 p.m. Jan. 31 on County Road 328 south of Milano. Full Story

Business, citizens recovering from Friday night flooding
Water, water everywhere. That’s the way it was here in Gause this past Friday evening into night. Cars coming through town were stranded because of the high water across Highway 79, causing some people passing through to have to spend the night in the Gause School gym. The buildings and businesses on Front Street were flooded with water of six to eight inches. Full Story

Showmanship clinic set Saturday at YEB
There will be a livestock showmanship clinic held on Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Milam County Youth Exposition Building (YEB) in Cameron. The clinic will begin at 3 p. m. and last approximately two hours. Sessions will include lambs, goats, swine and poultry.
