Reporter/Holly Jentsch Milano’s Kelly Wadlington snatched six steals in the Lady Eagles’ loss to CTC. Reporter/Holly Jentsch The Milano Lady Eagles (10-14, 3-5) saw their dreams of a spot in the playoffs and season come to an end with a 43-38 loss at Bartlett (4-4) on Tuesday night.

The win gives the Lassies a third place finish and the final playoff spot for District 27A.

Thrall (8-0) was undefeated in league play to claim the district crown, with Holland (5-3) finishing second. Milano was fourth.

Thrall has earned a bye in the first round of the state playoffs. Holland will play Ganado, the third place team from 28A in the bi-district round, where Bartlett will face 28A runner-up Flatonia. Shiner won 28A.

The Lady Eagles fell 63-51 on the road to Central Texas Christian School in Belton on Friday night during an open date in Milano’s district schedule.

Raighley Shaw led the team with 15 points, followed by 12 from Halle McManess.

Defensively, Elizabeth Holt snagged 11 board and Kelly Wadlington had six steals.
