Couple charged in Cameron child abuse

A Cameron couple was charged with injury to a child Friday, following an investigation by police and Child Protective Services.

According to Cameron Police Chief Randy Dixon, Bobby McGowan, 49, and Brenda Louise Young, 48, were charged with injury to a child in connection with incidents involving a fiveyear old boy and four-year-old girl.

Both were released on Saturday. Bond was set at $25,000.

Police said allegation are that the children were beaten with a hose and leather belt.

As a result of the CPS investigation, the children were removed ed from the home and placed in the custody of Child Protective Services, police said.
