Two wrecks in early-morning fog

Troopers were called to a pair of accidents Tuesday morning as fog again descended on the Rockdale area.

Both were on FM 487 just north of the city limits and were worked by Trooper Erik Gaston.

Gaston said a one-vehicle crash was reported at 5:59 a.m. and involved a vehicle operated by Jose Gonzalez, 23, of Cameron.

The driver was transported to Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale by AMR paramedics.

Damages were listed as moderate to heavy.

About two hours later, a twovehicle accident was investigated by Gaston.

He said at 8:09 a.m. vehicles driven by Ray Gilligan III, 24, and Victor Carrasco, 64, both of Rockdale, were in collision.

No injuries were reported.

Damages were termed moderate to both vehicles.

Gaston also investigated a two-vehicle collision at 1:25 p.m. Saturday at US 79 and Texas 36 in Milano.

He listed drivers as Rocky Young, 40, of Cooper and Christopher Justice, 36, of Jefferson.

Justice refused treatment at the scene, according to Gaston. Damages were termed extensive.
