Graveside services for Stanis Whited, 86, were held Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, in Black Jack Cemetery in the Black Jack community with Pastor James Hood officiating.

Mr. Whited died Thursday, Feb. 9.

He was born July 30, 1925, in Rowena to Bunk Andrew and Stella May (Nichols) Whited.

Mr. Whited was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad and also served as a minister.

Survivors are his wife, Helen Janette Whited of Whitehouse; four daughters, Sharon Whited of Mesquite, Debbie Jakubik and husband Rick of Whitehouse, Linda Bearden and husband Joe of Diboll, Wanda Moser and husband Russ of Palestine; and a sister, Florine Riddle of Tulsa, Oklahoma; also, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
