Theft of tools leads to arrest

POLICE REPORT

A 46-year- old Temple man remains in the Milam County Jail in lieu of $6,000 bond after a burglary of a building arrest last week.

Police Chief Thomas Harris said Charles Ervin Cashaw was charged after a Rockdale man reported about 40 tools were missing from a shed.

In the week’s only other felony arrest, 20-year-old Blanca Aldama was arrested on a Milam County warrant for probation violation on an original charge of assault causes bodily injury/.

She remains in custody.

HORSE-VAN—Police said a horse ran into the roadway in the 400 block of FM 908 south at 8:11 p.m. Monday and jumped onto the hood of a 2005 Buick van driven by Noemi Yanez, 36, of Rockdale. The van sustained extensive windshield and hood damage, police said.

Veh ic le s op er ate d by Jo e Ramos, 41, and Amanda Wells, 28, both of Rockdale, were in collision at 5:16 p.m. Feb. 15 at Wilcox and Murray.

Police said a vehicle driven by Dallas Montoya, 32, of Rockdale was in collision with a parked car owned by Alice Zapata of Rockdale at 2:20 a.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of East Belton.

CALLS—Police responded to 138 calls for service, and 106 through the 911 system, over the past week.

Police issued 103 citations over the seven-day reporting period, issuing 40 speeding tickets and 17 no MVI sticker citations.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
